It’s December 19, 2021 and we are packing for a 4 month adventure. When I signed the contract to be a faculty member on Semester at Sea again, for their first post-COVID voyage, the newest variant wasn’t an issue. Things appeared to be looking up. Now, that isn’t the case, but here we are. We are spending Christmas in Naples, then embarking January 2 for a teaching and learning voyage until the end of April.

Last time around (Spring 2015) our entire family set sail. This time, our older son Jack is staying in Canada for university. But he is coming to Naples with us for a holiday, along with his lovely girlfriend Rebecca.
